Heya there!! i’ve got exciting news! the new line of ninjacats with weapons has been introduced into my shop and i’ll be adding even more over this coming week. Check them out!

I have also introduced cat toy ninja weapons!!

I have a super awesome special discount to anyone who reads my blog. Just use the coupon code: NEWYEAR to recieve 12% off your entire purchase! Code ends on 1/31/12.

Thank you so much and hope you have a happy new year!!!

last week i set up at my very first craft fair! it was held at my job and was pretty fun. it was a great experience to learn from and i’m thinking about signing up for another craft fair in the spring.

it was really cool thinking of ways to set up the table. the banner is so very much my style and i’m so happy i could convey that!

i’ve decided to add some of my paintings to my shop, in miniature form. believe me when i say that they were a challenge. i’m used to working on canvas that is 6′ by 4′ and working on like 1/100th of that scale was interesting but really fun!

brooches and necklaces…

the ninjacats eagerly awaited to be taken to their new homes!

sneaky peek at my new ninjacats. they have weapons that attach to the velcro. these ninjas will be available in my shop on January 1st!

using a few of my vintage suitcases turned out great and made packing up a breeze!

i had a lot of fun and definitely will continue to think of ways to spread the ninjacat invasion!

hope you’re having a great week!

due to many things happening in the world of the tacocat productions etsy shop, not much time has been left for me to devote to my own projects for my house. i was finally able to knock out two pieces last week though and i’m so excited to share them with you!!

i love the many looks of homer. this one is one of my top favorites from “homer the vigilante”

next comes my most favorite milhouse moment…

i’m so proud of these! now to look for suitable frames so that they may be added to my ever growing wall of simpsons fan art.

hope you’re doing well!!

i’m struggling with the blog-o-sphere. meaning i’m not really keeping a schedule or updating like i intentionally planned. life has changed a bit in direction so i’m sort of feeling my way through the weeks until i figure out what i want to really grasp onto. but there are things around that make me smile these days.

my mom gave me her sewing machine several years ago and last week i finally took it out of the case and used it. i’m in love with it!!!

it took a few frustrating tries to get the tension right but thanks to the internet it was fixed!

from there, i started sewing cute bows thanks to this tutorial. it was mega easy, which is wonderful for a beginner like me.

wearing the bows is even MORE fun than making them too! i can’t wait to look for more pretty fabric to use!

i bought sewing thread for the first time in years, can’t wait to see what i’ll make with such gorgeous colors.

here’s an awkward photo of myself that i’m kinda liking. i’m an awkwardly shy person to begin with so i feel like this kinda captures it.

my cat, sophie is addicted to the tub. it’s the first place she goes to every morning. she takes her “baths” in there, rolls around, basically has a blast. i wish tubs were that fun for me too.

the most important thing that is making me smile these days are my friends. not trying to sound sappy but my goodness friends are so amazing to be around when your heart gets broken. they have the best and most comforting words ever. i don’t think i’d be doing so well if if weren’t for them.

anyway, so what’s making you smile right now? i’d love to know!

have a great weekend, folks!

does your heart ever start racing when you know you have a solidly incredible idea?? my heart is racing right now! i need to make room in my house and etsy shop for a new line of ninjacats. i have put my felt ones on clearance at $15.00 each (one of them is $12.00 cause she’s clumsy). i can GUARANTEE that the ninjacats in the future will never be this inexpensive, so get’em while the gettin’s good!

just a tiny squeak of what’s to come: i am on the hunt for a different type of material to make the next line, meaning that the next line will be a bit more costly, probably starting at $30.00 because of the materials and details that will be included. i don’t want to give out too many hints just yet cause it’s a secret and i’d like to blow everyones socks off when i’m ready to unveil the new ninjas. i promise you that you haven’t seen anything like them before!!

here are my clearance ninjacats looking for a sweet home to call their own and to protect:

Remmington

Charlie

Dee

Beatrix

George

Gary

they’re all waiting for you at the tacocatproductions etsy shop!

thanks!

i’ve been working on a few necklaces this week and have just posted them to my etsy shop!

thanks for stopping by!!

i’ve taken quite a bit of time off from this project but it has been on my mind the entire time. for some reason embroidery has been feeling like a chore lately so i have moved to other things until i gain my motivation back. i feel it will be soon though thanks to a nice compliment about my work.

anyway, look at my newest addition to the simpsons wall! i love homer’s facial expressions and i hope that i capture them in each piece.

not sure when the next one will be done, honestly, but i have the pattern sketched out on the fabric which is a HUGE start already. *hint* it’s a scene from homer the vigilante.

hope you’re having a fun week!!
